The the AnyCount word count tool trial version has no restrictions on file types, but you can count only 10 times per day and no more than 10 files at a time, and some counting options are not available:

-Runnig Footers, End Notes, Linked Objects, Embedded Objects for .doc, .rtf, .wpd files;
-Footnotes for .mif files;
-Slide Footers, Presentation Footers, Title Masters, Linked Objects, Embedded Objects for .ppt, .pps files;
-Headers for .pub files;
-Custom properties for .vsd files;
-Linked Objects, Embedded Objects for .xls files.
