Error opening MS Word application

Question: Using Anycount to count the characters in a Word file generates the following error message:
Error opening MS Word application:
Class not registered, Class ID: {000209FF-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
What is the problem?

Answer: The most likely reason is that you have installed the Click-to-Run version of MS Office 2010. Currently, AnyCount is not compatible with this version of MS Office 2010. Please uninstall your current MS Office 2010 and install the MSI-based version.

By the way, you do not need to buy a new license for the MSI-based version of MS Office 2010 since your license allows you to install either the Click-to-Run or MSI-based version of the program.

Also you can find how to switch from the Click-to-Run version to the MSI-based version of MS Office 2010 using the following link: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/click-to-run-switch-to-using-a-full-office-edition-HA101850538.aspx?queryid=1824aef35e174fd4adb8a2a398b1170f&respos=2
