I have ordered the upgrade, but now I receive "General error 706" when I try to activate my new version.

This kind of error usually occurs if you used a registration email different from the one used with your original license, thus creating a new account for the upgrade, rather than adding it to the existing one.
Please send us a letter to one of the following emails - firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org (depending on the product you use). Please include your original registration email address and the new one. Our support team will merge your accounts and resolve the problem.
