I can't upgrade to Projetex 3D via the "Check for Updates" window. I have an earlier version of the program. What is wrong?

Nothing is wrong. You are simply trying to upgrade to Projetex 3D without owning a Projetex 3D license. Upgrading between major versions requires additional payment.
